These
classes are designed to be a hands-on classes where the basic nurturing skills
of infant massage and therapeutic touch will be taught, demonstrated and
practiced.
Research
has shown that aside from the strengthening of the parental bond, massage can
help stimulate growth and weight gain, promote brain development and sensory
awareness, improve digestion, muscle tone, circulation, relieve physical
discomforts such as teething, gas and colic, and help a baby settle and sleep
longer.
We offer these classes at our
Belper practice but we are also available to teach them in the comfort of your
own home either on a one to one basis or with a group from parent craft or
friends.
The classes are best suited for babies aged between 4-6
weeks old and crawling.
The classes run over 4 weeks and cost £35 including oil.
You will need to bring a clean nappy and changing stuff, a feed in case baby
gets hungry and a mat, pillow or blanket to lie baby on to carry out the
massage.
Classes are held on Thursday mornings at the Bridge centre in Mickleover, Derby and start on the following dates:
January 2010, date to be confirmed
Places are limited and need to be booked in advance.
